FORZA, Agency for Sustainable Development of the Carpathian region long year member of the Danube Civil Society Forum !

FORZA is a non-profit NGO with a long experience in local development, environmental protection, and climate change adaptation focusing on forestry education and improved forest management activities.

FORZA builds capacities of all actors along the forest value chain by providing lifelong learning and knowledge exchange to forest professionals, and forest-based industry around issues of close to nature and multifunctional forest management, climate change, and biomass for energy. They make efforts on increasing the awareness of the general public about the forests and their role in society and actively promote forest and environment related education in Ukraine using “forest pedagogics”.The core team are experts in forestry, wilderness, community issues, and the economy.

- FEM4FOREST:Forests in Women’s Hands (Danube Transnational Program, co-financed by the European Union) The main objective of Fem4Forest project is to strengthen the forest sector at local, regional and interregional level trough increased involvement and ability of women actors by supporting their equal presence and competences at the market in the Danube region.The project offers new and well adapted innovative learning approach which will support a more active role of women in the forest sector.

- ROSEWOOD4.0: EU network of Regions On SustainablE WOOd mobilization ready for Digitalization (Horizon 2020, financed by the European Union) The project is designed to enhance and enlarge the well-established ROSEWOOD network connecting actors of the wood mobilisation value-chain starting from forest owners to relevant regional authorities up to forestry and wood-based industries, to address and find answers for the main challenges in the forestry domain, especially the sustainable wood mobilisation.ROSEWOOD4.0 focuses on tailored (user- and region-specific) transfer of know-how and information that enables and supports stakeholders of the wood value-chain to exploit innovations and best-practices and facilitate the capture of innovative ideas enhancing the development of the field.

- ROADS TO HEALTHY FORESTS: resilient, adaptive, diverse and sustainable forests in cross-border region of Ukraine and Slovakia (Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine ENI Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2014-2020, co-financed by the European Union). The main objective of the project is to increase stability and adaptability of Carpathian forest ecosystems to climate change impacts in Slovak-Ukrainian cross border region. Within the project it is planned to  build new forest roads and reconstruct existing ones, build a forest nursery with a greenhouse,  as well as Demonstration and Information Center “Forest and Climate”, plant and raise healthy forests; train foresters on the climate change impact issues; organise joint Slovak-Ukrainian field events and mutual study tours  to learn best practices in managing resilient and better adapted forests to the climate change, raise awareness of the general public on the role of forests in tackling the climate change issues.
