Irene has been implementing international assignments in the field of integrated land use, environmental communication and policy for almost 20 years, working either for or with NGOs in many Central and Eastern European countries. Among her recent responsibilities was chairing the Working Group on Environment of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum during the first year of its existence. She holds a master’s degree in Biology.
In her function as Head of Policy ofWWF´s Danube Carpathian Programme, Irene Lucius focuses on EU freshwater, agriculture and cohesion policies. Since June 2009, she has been involved in advocating a green EUStrategy for the Danube Region.
