Jana Cicmanova, Project manager, Energy Cities
Jana Cicmanova graduated from the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava and obtained her MSc degree on Sustainable Development and Climate Change at De Montfort University in Leicester (UK). Since 2006 she has been working as Project Manager in Energy Cities – a European association of local authorities in energy transition – which counts some 1000 members from more than 30 countries.
Jana coordinates and implements European projects related to financing of sustainable energy projects in urban areas through alternative financing schemes (INFINITE Solutions) and the European funds. As a member of the Covenant of Mayors Office, she is organising capacity building workshops focusing on development, implementation and financing of cities’ Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans. She also follows EU policies and debates related to the EU budget, funds and programmes and in particular EU cohesion policy. She has good knowledge of innovative financing instruments implemented by local authorities and financial products offered by commercial banks and international financing institutions (e.g. EIB, EBRD, KfW, etc.) to support cities and regions’ energy transition process. Jana is also responsible for relations with local, regional and national authorities as well as other key stakeholders and partners in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
